Social Media and Your Enterprise

I recently attended a convention of company owners. I was amazed with some of the thoughts, opinions, ideas, which I received from

other small business owners, while speaking throughout the conference. I heard things such as social media isn’t worth the time or
the cash, social media simply doesn’t work for my small business, or perhaps social media just does not work.

Info, technology, and business are becoming inextricably interwoven. How often in the past year have you gone to the Yellow Pages.
Personally, I do not use the Yellow Pages anymore, and if you should take a look at the Yellow Pages out of your community, I will
wager they are thinner today than they used to be. If you and your company consider becoming involved with social media(SM), take
a step back and consider it simply as a promotion tool, such as the Yellow Pages used to be. They used to be considered as an
excellent marketing tool. Not so much anymore. Even if you were to go in and take a look inside, I bet you you’ll find lots of
blank spaces in your Yellow Pages, since they do not get enough businesses advertising with them anymore.

Online information technology is becoming the way to connect with your customers and customers. Personally, if I’m looking for
something, in my area and when I am traveling, I always go on the internet and Google it first. What should you do? Where do you
go when you’re trying to find a business solution or an reply to your query?

One of the huge things that I’ve come across is people who are beginning to get involved with information technologies and SM is
that they have an internet site that’s static. It just sits there, it does not do anything. It’s one big pretty image with some
contact information, maybe a telephone number, a speech, nothing interactive, nothing to provide the person, nothing to lure the
individual to have a closer look at the company. It’s like having a fantastic big company card online. Have a look at your site,
is it working “for” you?

One of the things you want on your business is social proof. You want social proof. And the simplest way you’re going to get that
is for you to have a presence in social networking. If you do not want to get left behind in advertising your business then you
must get on board with social media marketing. All company can benefit whether they are large or little; mortar and brick or
